Wiltshire Rose Croix is proud to announce the introduction of a new Provincial recognition: the Red Rose Award
Why the Red Rose Award Matters
The introduction of this honour supports several key aims within the Province. It encourages participation by inspiring Princes to take an active role in ritual work, while recognising the dedication of those who make a significant contribution without necessarily progressing towards the Chair. It also promotes personal development by supporting brethren who challenge themselves to grow in confidence and ability, and strengthens Chapter life by enriching the shared ritual experience through sincere, committed, and heartfelt participation.

Wiltshire Rose Croix is proud to announce the introduction of a new Provincial recognition: the Red Rose Award — a personal honour created to celebrate Princes of the 18° who show outstanding dedication to the ritual life of their Chapters.This award is designed for those brethren who consistently step forward to support ritual work, whether in open Chapter, rehearsals, or a Chapter of Improvement. It recognises sincerity, willingness, and heartfelt effort — not perfection.
As stated in the letter to the first recipient, the award is for those who demonstrate “genuine commitment and endeavour… to present the ritual with feeling, sincerity, and meaning.”The Red Rose Award is granted solely at the discretion of the Inspector General, recognising those he personally observes “having a go” and contributing meaningfully to the life of their Chapter.

David Fry
First Recipient Announced: E&P David Fry
The inaugural Red Rose Award has been presented to E&P David Fry of Calne Chapter Rose Croix No. 956.
At the January 2026 meeting, David undertook the office of Marshal during the First and Second Points — only his second Rose Croix meeting. His composure, dignity, and sincere delivery exemplified the spirit of the award “in the highest degree,” making him a most deserving first recipient.
David is now able to wear the Red Rose insignia throughout the Province, most suitably as a tie pin so it remains visible alongside the 18° collar.
